Our Learning Behaviours

Feering School Learning Behaviours

Our school’s broad and balanced curriculum prepares our children for the next stage of their education. Our learning behaviours run through all that we do equipping our pupils for life. We view these as a collective kit bag to enrich and enable them during their time with us and beyond.

We have a central display of these to help visitors understand how they manifest themselves day to day within our provision.

From quite early on, children are able to identify what these learning behaviours look like. In fact, we ask them to notice them in others. All our reward systems are based on nurturing these six behaviours and our school’s Christian character runs through them all.

Our six learning behaviours are:

  • Work hard and concentrate
  • Respect yourself and others
  • Try new things
  • Imagine
  • Don’t give  up
  • Improve

Going for green

We believe, as a community, positive behaviour choices underpin a happy and safe learning environment. We constantly encourage pupils to aim to be the best version of themselves they can. In each classroom we have a Red, Amber and Green chart, children are supported to stay on green.

However, we recognise that mistakes are a crucial part of learning and how to make amends are an important life lesson.

To recognise those who have stayed on or got back to green each week we hold a raffle. You have to be in it to win it! We also send home letters each term to parents if their child has managed this for a whole term.
